This year’s Mobile World Congress event is due to kick off tomorrow on 27th February through to 1st March. Plenty of new forthcoming devices will be announced and shown off in the flesh, one being from Samsung in the shape of the new Galaxy Beam running with Android.

Samsung over the last year has caused a massive stir within the mobile phone world, what with their Galaxy S range including the S II, Nexus, Note and the highly anticipated S III due to drop in the coming months. Today the news is centred on the new Beam with 4.0 LCD display, which comes complete with a built-in Pico Projector.

Although as androidcommunity.com reported, this is not the first time that Samsung has introduced a pico-projector type device, it’s the first known to pack Android, that being 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

In relation to the Beam’s projector, it packs a 15 lumen which transfers multimedia content from the device onto a large projector screen be it a wall or ceiling. Unlike many of the forthcoming smartphones that run on either a 1.2GHz or even a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the Beam is reported to come with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal memory, 5MP autofocus rear camera with 1.3MP to the front, HSPA connectivity along with a reasonable 2000mAh battery.
