iOS 5.1 jailbreak update bypasses the ASLR

Most of the iOS unfaithful that have jailbroken their iPhone would like to know the status of the jailbreak for iOS 5.1, and now apparently iPhone hacker pod2g has hit Twitter to update people on the state of the iOS 5.1 jailbreak in numerous tweets, so we thought we’d pass that info along to our iOS readership.

According to the guys over at the iDownload Blog, pod2g used his Twitter account to let the iOS unfaithful know that the hackers have now managed to bypass the Address Space Layout Randomisation (ASLR), apparently the complicated security measure could have taken much longer, but the guys have already achieved this.

However there is some bad news with the iOS 5.1 jailbreak, and that is it appears a public jailbreak still looks to be quite a way away with pd2g tweeting that he has no clue as to the ETA of 5.1 JB, they are working on setting together pieces of the puzzle but have issues, and as such it could be a month or two or even never.

Of course when it comes to jailbreaks, one does have to realise that these hackers do have normal jobs they have to do and working on a jailbreak is a hobby, and could also be working on other projects we don’t know about, and of course no one likes someone who complains about them taking too long to deliver.

The jailbreakers do a fairly decent job at keeping everyone updated on the latest developments when it comes to jailbreaking, so basically you’ll need to be fairly patient for them to finally crack iOS 5.1 and deliver that public jailbreak.
