When considering purchasing a new smartphone many consumers won’t think to consider any of the offerings from the South Korean company LG, but the company is looking to change this with some stylish new handsets in the pipeline and today we have videos that look at both the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Vu.

The guys over at Droid Life have managed to get some time with the LG handsets at the ongoing CTIA event in the US, and while the Optimus 4X HD and Optimus Vu have not been announced for the country they still have a strong presence at the show. First up is the Optimus 4X HD that uses the impressive dual core 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, which powers a 4.7-inch HD display with 1GB of RAM, HSPA+, eight megapixel shooter, NFC compatibility, 2150 mAh battery, and runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

The handset was found to be quite nice after being used for a brief time, and the LG custom skin is the best to date. The native camera and video apps have been treated to features that don’t seem to be available elsewhere. Meanwhile the LG Optimus Vu was once believed to be the company’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Note, but despite being marketed as a smartphone with its monster 5-inch display, it has more to offer.

Spec wise it has a 1.5GHz dual core processor believed to be the Snapdragon S4, LTE connectivity, eight megapixel camera, 2080 mAh battery, only 8.5mm thick, and currently is only running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. First impressions it was found that the Optimus Vu would make a nice device to use on a coffee table as a mini tablet, but it’s questionable whether you would want to carry it around with you all the time.

It has some nice screen capture features and also takes some decent pictures, and the device is ideal for enjoying selected media on. Check out the videos below and tell us what you think of the devices.
