Verizon LG Optimus LTE2 (VS930) shows up at GCF
This year fans of the Android platform are being spoilt for choice when it comes to new hardware being released in the coming months, and we now have news of the Verizon LG Optimus LTE2 (VS930) that shows up at GCF.
A LG smartphone that has the model number of VS930 has been in the news for a while now, and as Droid Life are reporting there is a good chance the device will be Big Reds version of the LG Optimus LTE2. The model number matches up with the naming scheme that Verizon has used previously for LG handsets, with VS910 for the Revolution, and VS920 for the Spectrum.
Back in April a benchmark emerged for the device that had Verizon tags all over it, and it has now appeared again at the Global Certification Forum. This time it has a number of global radios inside but no mention of the LTE or CDMA bands that are normally found with handsets destined for the US.
This could mean that handsets on the Verizon network in the future will feature global roaming capabilities, and that is what is now being tested at the GCF and the VS930. The LG Optimus LTE2 is the company’s handset to battle with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S III, and LG announced it the same day as the Galaxy S3 was revealed to the world, but LG took the opportunity to reveal the handset would have 2GB or RAM, which is a first for a smartphone.
Other features of the handset include a 4.7-inch HD display, wireless charging, dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and an impressive 2,150 mAh battery. The handset may differ slightly to the unit being released in Korea, and it is hoped will be available in the US during the summer.
Do you like the look of the LG Optimus LTE2? Or is there something else on your radar for 2012?

If it comes out soon enough, but if the S3 comes out first i can’t imagine anyone would wait for this phone.
I purchased this phone in Korea, and I love it. Very quick and intuitive to use but yet can customize the phone the way I like. Best yet, the display is amazing!
