We’ve been bringing news about the Samsung Galaxy Note coming to T-Mobile in the U.S. This hit smartphone is already available on AT&T but the evidence was building that it may also head to T-Mobile. Today T-Mobile has officially announced that it will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note although there’s no news yet on an exactly release date or pricing.

There will be plenty of people happy to hear that the Galaxy Note is definitely coming to T-Mobile, especially those who can’t wait to get their hands on the phone because of its whopping 5.3-inch display. Before its release there was some doubt about whether people would really want a smartphone with such a large screen, so large that the device has been referred to as a phablet, a cross between a phone and a tablet. However that was quickly put to rest when the Galaxy Note flew off the shelves on release.

The T-Mobile press release, brought to our attention by Phone Arena says that the Galaxy Note will be available in a few weeks in select T-Mobile stores or online. Specs and features for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note include a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 dual-core processor, 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD display with resolution of 1280 x 800, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and S Pen stylus. It all runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung’s Premium Suite and also offers the T-Mobile 4G Pro App Pack. However the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy Note does not have LTE connectivity but supports HSPA+.

It’s a shame the press release doesn’t narrow down the release date any further other than “in the coming weeks” and also no price is available yet but we’ll be bringing you more on this as soon as we hear any more information. One problem may be that the longer T-Mobile leaves it to release this handset, the closer we will be to the release of the Galaxy Note 2, rumored for a release in the fall, so that’s something you might wish to consider if you’re thinking of purchasing the Galaxy Note on T-Mobile.
