T-Mobile USA set to open a virtual AppStore
It’s looking like T-Mobile USA is going to open up its virtual doors to a multi-platform Apple AppStore type of service. It’s also been said that when the mobile application store opens supposedly this autumn, it will virtually support all platforms, “from upcoming Android to Java to Sidekick and Windows Mobile.”
It’s all pretty hush hush at the moment, and Veneita Espinoza, T-Mobile’s director of Mobile Applications and Partner Programs, said that they are working with the industry to “foster an open wireless services platform which will provide developers with the tools and information they need to make new, innovative experiences available to T-Mobile’s more than 31.5M customers.” It’s said that the devPartner Community site is just in the alpha stage, and its suggested we all keep our ears and eyes open as this is just the start of things to come from T-mobile.
It’s likely we will see more developments over the coming weeks; Espinoza said that they are seeing such potential and they believe that the users will benefit from the third party applications.
