Back in mid-July the AT&T exclusive Samsung Galaxy Note 4G gained the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, and unlike some Android 4.0 updates, the integration with the Galaxy Note 4G seems to be somewhat smooth, whilst other Android user have complained that the ICS update hasn’t really meshed with their device correctly.

However according to an article over on Mobile Bloom, this isn’t the case when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4G on AT&T, because the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade has some vast improvements over Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but still doesn’t actually change the way you use the device.

As the changes with ICS are subtle in appearance, many Samsung Galaxy Note users complained the upgrade actually hadn’t been made, but whilst the home screens do look identical, if you tap the home button up pops your recent taps, whilst if you hit up Settings, you will find a new layout along with added usage monitoring.

Also the Android smartphone can now make use of Android Beam, enabling the user to wirelessly share apps, information and data simply by holding the device against another device that has Android Beam. An update to the S Pen Premium Suite has also been added with ICS, which enhances and changes My Story apps, S Note and S Memo.

Ice Cream Sandwich also brings the ability to import and annotate snapshots, S Memo maps, and more, whilst Shape Match makes your drawing of geometric shapes more perfect, whilst a small icon of S Memo can also now be added to the home screen, and the user now has the ability to import and edit PDF files on the handset enabling you to rapidly add notes to documents.

So there you go, basically the Android ICS update to the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4G delivers quite a few improvements to the device.
