BlackBerry 10 apps submission kicks off
Research In Motion is hoping that their new BlackBerry 10 smartphones, which are expected to hit the mobile space sometime during the first quarter of 2013, will turn the company’s failing fortunes around and get them back into the big boys game in the mobile arena,. And obviously want to make sure there are plenty of apps that will support BB10 once they release.
As such RIM has now announced that developers of BlackBerry 10 applications can now start submitting their BB10 apps to BlackBerry App World, and submitted apps are guaranteed to be tested, reviewed and ready for publishing to the BlackBerry 10 platform.
The BlackBerry Dev Bolg has posted an how to submit your apps for BlackBerry 10 devices post, which says that when creating a new release for the BlackBerry App World vendor portal, developers will see a new family called BlackBerry 10 along with one new device ‘All Touch,’ and you select ‘All Touch’ to target the app for BlackBerry 10, whilst the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha will also be available for targeting apps for testing purposes.
Apparently all BB10 apps submitted to BlackBerry App World this month and next for preferred carousel placements will be reviewed, and the sooner developers submit their apps, the sooner that app can be tested for the ‘Built for BlackBerry’ program, and if tested and certified, the developer can qualify for the 10k Developer Commitment.
Developers do need to make sure they use the Beta3 Developer SDKs that were launched on the 27th of September, and any application submitted needs to be recompiled using Beta3 Developer Software and then resubmitted.
