Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Paranoid update
While thoughts have recently turned towards a new model the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 remains a hugely popular smartphone and rightly so. Owners of the handset have long praised it and are currently waiting for the next firmware update to arrive, but today we have the Galaxy Note 2 running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Paranoid update in a video.
The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is expected to arrive for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 in the next few weeks after seemingly being delayed, but there are a number of custom ROMs available to users that are confident enough to install such software.
This version running on the handset in the video below is the Paranoid ROM that is version of the stock Android OS that has a lot of great features. Obviously this software needs the handset to be rooted that is only done at your own risk, and the firmware has a very minimal and simple feel to it without lots of bloatware.
There aren’t all the extra features that come with the Samsung TouchWiz Android overlay so this obviously means the likes of Multi Window and other Premium Suite features are not available. The build number is Paranoid 3.5.6 that may not be the latest version of the ROM but is very stable.
Everything works as it should including the Wi-Fi and GPS features with the speed of web browsing proving to be quite fast. As it is the stock Android firmware you get the Android messaging app that includes the Google Keyboard that works really fast on the handset.
The video runs through a number of features and also looks at features that have just arrived in iOS 7 that have been available on Android for years, but what is obvious from the software is that it is extremely quick and responds to commands instantly.
Have you installed this software onto your Galaxy Note 2?

My android 4.1.2 note 2 ran your same benchmark faster at 6849 and not 5692 . So how is it that your opinion is that the stock android is faster? thank you
Yeah mine got 6869
how does a rube like me update my Note 2 from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 without messing up?
What’s the difference between updating ROM and rooting, is it the same thing but different terminology?
