Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition gets UK price and release
While it seems that Samsung won’t be providing the Nexus 10 again this year the company still has some worthy Android tablets of its own, and now the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition gets a UK price and release date timeframe.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has got a lot of Android users excited about its arrival since the company announced the device back in September, and now an eagle eyed shopper has sent in the image that you can see on this page to Android Central of the device on display at a Currys/PC World Store.
It is being reported that the device will go on sale from next week via the retailer with the unit costing £499.99 for the Wi-Fi model with 16GB of on board storage. The listing for the device has it powered by a quad core processor, while the Samsung Octa core Exynos 5240 is under the hood but this is just thought to be a mistake by the retailer.
The device has impressed with its 10.1-inch display at a resolution of 2560 x 1600 with a pixel density of 300ppi, which is paired with an impressive 3GB of RAM. Online retailer Clove has the same device listed for £479.99 so will save you £20, while Expansys has it listed for £499.99 with stock expected in two days time.
Do you plan to get the new Galaxy Note 10.1?

Is this a joke?! Its costs £375 in the US. This country is a complete rip off.
american prices quoted without VAT, plus shipping costs. It; still ridiculously expensive but is the only tablet that meets all of my needs, so i will hopefully pick one up soon
Not true… US price including tax and shipping = $549. At today’s rate that is £340. I understand that the price should be somewhat higher over here due to higher taxes, but +£160 is ridiculous.
Frugal – not true – I just bought it from Best Buy. the 32GB was $549 EXCLUDING sales tax – any US prices are always excluding sales tax because each state can charge its own and change it as they choose. So thats about 350 quid. If you deduct VAT from the 479 pounds that people are paying, UK price is about 391 pounds. It’s not THAT much more expensive 🙂
Oops – I bought that 16GB version. Otherwise it wouldn’t have been comparable. Incidentally the 32GB version goes for $599.
550 dollars in US = £340 in UK what a rip off. I’m getting an ipad its cheaper!! Poor show Samsung.
Picked up one at John Lewis yesterday. £479. They only have the white model.
Is it any good? Worth the cost?
Or would you go for something else
Love the tablet but genuinely cross about the price. I had been looking at American listings and knowing that it will be more expensive in the UK I had expected it to be £399. How wrong I was.
Just bought mine today – very excited – great piece of kit – except for the teething issues which I experienced in store – there is a bug with the text to write due to Samsung not renewing the license – expect a fix soon!
Lisa, where did you buy the tablet and was you not put off with the higher expected cost here in the UK.
Well done Samsung! with that extortionate price you have just pushed many expectant users like myself in the direction of Nexus 10 (2.0), LG G pad 8.3 or and IPad 4 or 5. After the US price was released I was hoping for the UK price to be in the £379 – £400 price range, but £499 for the basic 16GB / WIFI is way to much.
Greedy greedy greedy…
I was looking forward to picking up one of these bad boys, but at nearly £500, I think I’ll be going elsewhere. I’ve a friend on holiday in Florida at the moment and could get her to pick one up, but I’m worried about UK compatibility issues. Can anyone advise whether this would be an issue?
No compatibility issues, except that the US charger wont fit UK sockets. That is easy to rectify.
I’d love to get one but can’t afford the price.
Now that’s just pushing it Samsung…. Count me out… Thought u would learn your lesson over pricing Gear.. but this another level.. Shame on you… Count me out… was really looking forward to this, but now i will take m business else where..
Terrible price! Not for me now. I’ll buy the new ipad mini instead
Sham of a price Samsung! The new Ipad is cheaper?! I’ll get the Ipad and a clean pair of pants that I need after reading this
Only 16gb in the UK? Seems they are all advertising that. I bought the 32gb 2 days ago in Czech Republic for £544, a much better deal.
