The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 GT-S7582 smartphone was recently made official in India and the Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500 has also now been listed. These are similarly priced smartphones that should appeal to plenty of buyers, so today we’re looking at the Micromax Canvas Blaze vs. Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2.

The Canvas Blaze is a dual SIM with dual standby handset and the Galaxy S Duos 2 is also a dual SIM device with dual standby. We’ll look at the key specs of both to see how they compare.

Processor
The Micromax Canvas Blaze has a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor while the Galaxy S Duos 2 has a 1.2GHz BCM21664T Cortex A9 dual-core processor.

Display
The Canvas Blaze has a 5-inch Full Touch display (resolution unspecified) and the Galaxy S Duos 2 has a 4-inch WVGA PLS display with resolution of 800 x 480.

RAM and Storage
There’s 768MB of RAM for the Canvas Blaze and unspecified storage, although we do know that is has expandable storage via microSD to 32GB. The Galaxy S Duos 2 also has 768MB of RAM, and this phone has 4GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 64GB.

Camera Set-up
The Canvas Blaze carries an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and flash as well as a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand the Galaxy S Duos 2 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and flash as well as a VGA front-facing camera.

Battery
The Canvas Blaze is equipped with a 1850mAh battery while the Galaxy S Duos 2 has a 1500 mAh battery.

Operating System
The Canvas Blaze runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean while the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 runs Android 4.2.

Dimensions
The Canvas Blaze measures 147.5mm x 74mm x 9.9mm and the Galaxy S Duos 2 measures 121.5mm x 63.1mm x 10.57mm.

Price
Samsung India listed the price of the Galaxy S Duos 2 at Rs. 10,999 although Snapdeal is selling it at Rs. 10,408 at the time of writing. The Micromax Canvas Blaze is currently selling at Rs. 10,794 at the same retailer.

Taking a look at these specs and other details reveals there’s not too much between what these phones offer and it’s pretty much swings and roundabouts. The Canvas Blaze has a larger display but of course it also has a much larger form factor too.

The Galaxy S Duos 2 has more expandable storage but the Canvas Blaze has a better camera set-up and larger battery. As there’s so little between them and they are very closely priced, any decision between these two handsets is likely to come down to personal requirements and design preference.
