ZTE G601U brings more ruggedness to Android

#

Most of the high end smartphones that are available are great for normal use but can become too delicate for some users in certain situations. Luckily there are now a number of tougher alternatives available to consumers and the ZTE G601U brings more ruggedness to the Android platform.

Leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer is getting ready to release a rugged Android device after it recently received certification in its home country. The handset is a mid-range device that features a 4.inch touchscreen display at a resolution of 800 x 400.

Under the hood is a dual core processor running at a clock speed of 1.3GHz which is coupled with 1GB of RAM running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Internal storage isn’t known but it is expandable via microSD card.

The handset has twin cameras with a 5-megapixel unit with LED flash on the rear paired with a VGA unit around the front. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,500 mAh battery unit supplying the juice while the handset measures 27.4mm x 66mm x 12mm weighing 156 grams.

There is currently no information on the handset reaching other markets but there is a good chance more details will emerge at next month’s MWC 2014 event.
