Micromax is a prolific manufacturer of devices for India and yet another new smartphone has been revealed. The Micromax Canvas Duet 2 is to launch imminently, and we have the specs and price details for interested potential buyers.

This new Canvas handset is a dual SIM device (GSM+CDMA) and is set to launch some time this week. The MRP is Rs. 15,999 although Mahesh Telecom is setting the Canvas Duet 2 price at Rs. 15,790.

Specs of the Canvas Duet 2 include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 5.27-inch IPS HD display with resolution of 1280 x 720), 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 32GB).

It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facer. Other specs include a 2300 mAh battery, 3G (EVDO), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Manish Khatri of Mahesh Telecom tweets that the Canvas Duet 2 EG-111 will be in stock there in 2 days, so there’s not too much longer to wait.
