Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs LG G Pro 2 initial look

#

Since the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 released in September last year it has been one of the most popular Android devices available. There have been plenty of competitors though, and now it has a new rival in the form of the new LG G Pro 2 phablet. Today we’re showing the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs. LG G Pro 2 in a hands-on initial look at both phones.

The Galaxy Note 3 is readily available across many world regions. On the other hand the LG G Pro 2 was only recently announced. It will release first in South Korea with this spreading to further Asian countries in late March and other regions such as the UK and US to follow.

We’ve previously shown a video comparison of both of these handsets, but this only gave details of the highlights of each device and didn’t give a hands-on look. You can also see a straightforward specs comparison of both of these phones as well as the HTC Max here. This new video shows both phones alongside each other and so offers an alternative brief look at these devices.

The YouTube video that you can see below this story begins with showing the designs of the two phones that gives a good idea of how they compare size-wise. It then details the displays of both with the Galaxy Note 2 being the ‘smaller’ of the two at 5.7-inches while the G Pro 2 is 5.9-inches.

Processors are then discussed with the performance of both phones said to be almost a dead heat before the cameras get a mention, particularly the fact that the LG G Pro 2 has optical image stabilization, which the Note 3 lacks. Some of the hardware is noted to be very similar, for example both have the same capacity removable batteries and also have expandable storage.

There’s also a quick look at the software experience of these handsets before the ultimate conclusion. Both of these smartphones have a huge amount to offer and come out of this initial comparison very well, and it may be quite difficult to choose between them.

With this in mind we’d like to know if you have a clear winner in mind after viewing the video below? Do you favour the Galaxy Note 3 or the LG G Pro 2, and will you be purchasing either of these phones?
