Only yesterday we discussed the iPhone 6 and the possibility it may release earlier than expected. Now there’s a further indicator that this might happen, as the iPhone 5S and 5C are now the subjects of Walmart price cuts. We often see price offers such as this in the time running up to a new release of a popular device, so this seems to reinforce the current speculation.

Walmart is now offering the iPhone 5S 16GB model for only $119 on a two-year contract with AT&T or Verizon. That’s down from $145 at Walmart while Apple is still selling it at $199. Meanwhile the iPhone 5C has been reduced to $29 from $45 at Walmart (Apple price $99).

While this doesn’t in any way confirm a release of the iPhone 6 in the summer rather than fall, as has lately been rumoured, it is usual to see retailers clearing stocks when a newer handset is on the way.As well as these price deals Walmart is also offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 for only $49 instead of $99, and of course the Galaxy S5 was just unveiled for a release next month.
