The unveiling of the new HTC One M8 has taken place and the world now know what the company’s new flagship has to offer, and we are now have a quick look at the HTC One M8 vs. HTC One 2013 and what’s changed in the new model spec wise.

Many of the specifications have already been leaked leading up to the unveiling but the new device has a 5-inch Full HD display providing a pixel density of 441ppi, which compares to HTC One and its 4.7-inch Full HD display with 469ppi.

Under the hood of the new model is the Qualcomm quad core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU, while the HTC One has the 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor with the Adreno 320 GPU.

The new device will launch with the latest version of Android along with HTC Sense 6.0 which has been promised to be coming to last year’s handset. One of the standout features of the HTC One M8 is the Duo camera that has a 4.1MP UltraPixel unit with a 2MP unit placed above, while around the front is a 5MP shooter.

HTC has provided the HTC One M8 with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded further via microSD card, while the HTC One came in 32GB or 64GB flavours with no expansion possible.

Both handsets have 2GB of RAM while the M8 measures 146.36mm x 70.6mm x 9.35 mm weighing 160 grams, while the HTC One comes in at 137.4mm x 68.2mm x 9.3 mm and 143 grams. The new model has a 2,600 mAh battery compared to the 2,300 mAh unit of last year but is promised to provide up to 40% more battery life, and HTC has also improved the BoomSound front facing speakers.
