Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 specs from benchmark spot
Back in April we informed readers about a possible Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 in development, a device that is likely to be of interest following the original Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 that released last year. Although this device is still unofficial we now have news of Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 specs from a benchmark spot.
The previous leak that we mentioned above tipped model number SM-G750 as the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, and now the GFXBench site lists a 3D Graphics Performance for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 (SM-G7508). This seems to remove any doubts that a new Galaxy Mega is on the way, and the specs reveal shows it’s likely to be a mid-range device as we would have expected for a Mega.
The model listed has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, Adreno 306 graphics, a 5.9-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage (although only 5.1GB is user-available). Other specs shown include a 12-megapixel rear camera (which Phone Arena points out could in fact be the 4:3 format of the 16-megapixel ISOCELL camera of the Galaxy S5), and a 4.7-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video capture.
The benchmark shows the device as running Android 4.4.3 KitKat, although the specs are compatible with it being upgradable to Android L at some point. Rather confusingly, there was another leak recently concerning a device dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 headed to China Mobile and possible other regions.
This throws something else into the mix, and apart from the fact that it’s rumored to have a 7-inch display, other specs are said to be a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Mega 7.0 device was given model numbers SM-T2558 and SM-T2556.
As the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 now appears to have made it to benchmarking we imagine it won’t be too much longer until it is officially introduced, so we’ll be keeping an eye on further developments with this. What do you think of these unconfirmed Galaxy Mega 2 specs, and does this sound like a device you might be interested in? Let us know with your comments.
