Droid Turbo rumored for an October announcement
Remember that Droid Turbo spec leak last month? It’s been quiet on the Droid front since that time, and while the Moto X is official, there’s not been a peep about the Turbo… until now, that is. A new report has given us a timeframe on the new handset, and it looks like we may get to meet the Droid Turbo next month.
Cnet is reporting that the Droid Turbo will be shown off to the world next month in October, and as you’d expect, it will be handset tied to Verizon. The device has shown up a few times under the name “Quark” as well as the Droid Turbo moniker. The only feature we know of thus far is turbo charging (thus the nickname), and we learned of this through the recently reactivated @DroidLanding account.
Faster charging is a big deal. That’s why we made it a bigger deal. #waitforit

The leaked Droid Turbo specs show a device that will make you drool if you dig high-powered handsets. The device was benchmarked as having a Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM and a QHD display. The actual size is still a bit up in the air, but it’s rumored to have a massive 20MP rear cameras to go along with a 2MP selfie snapper and 32GB of storage.
The Droids were always popular devices for Big Red, and a new high-powered Droid Turbo would certainly push some units. If the Droid Turbo specs pan out, it will be a flagship device you can only get on Verizon, and it could make some folks pause before making a switch at contract time.
Would you stay with Verizon or switch to the carrier for the Droid Turbo?
