ZTE grows into Windows Mobile and Linux high end phones

ZTE, the sixth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, after making their mark in the lower end mobile phone operator branded phones is finally edging their way up into high end mobile phones.

And in doing so is anticipated to focus its resources on producing Linux and Windows Mobile based mobile handsets. ZTE is on a growth spurt with only shipping 15 million handsets back in 06 to making a huge jump to 50 million handsets this year.

Although outside China ZTE has focused on USB modems for laptops, they are now looking towards the 3G market, and is expected to ship Windows Mobile powered mobile phones with Vodafone sometime next year, and hopes to sign deals with other carriers as well.
