There are plenty of mid-range and top-end smartphones available, but we should also remember the many available for the budget end of the market. Two new handsets in the Intex Aqua series have just become listed. We have details of the Intex Aqua 3G Star and Intex Aqua 5X specs and prices.

There’s no news yet on exactly when these new Intex phones will be available, but the Aqua 3G Star is already listed on the company website with a low price of Rs. 3,490. Specs include a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7715 single-core processor, a 4-inch display with resolution of 800 x 480, 256MB of RAM, and 2GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 32GB).

It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1400 mAh battery, and it runs the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. Connectivity is catered for with 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS /A-GPS, and microUSB. This is a dual SIM handset and it measures 124mm x 63.5mm x 9.5mm. It weighs in at just 110g and when it goes on sale it will be offered in just a black color.

The specs of the Intex Aqua 5X (pictured below) include a 1GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor, a 4-inch display with resolution of 800 x 480, 256MB of RAM, and just 14MB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing unit, and a 1300 mAh battery. Dimensions are 123.5mm x 63.2mm x 10.5mm and it weighs 106g. It will be available in black or grey colors and this is also a dual SIM 3G handset running Android 4.4.2. The price of this one is Rs. 3,990.
