Micromax’s YU brand announced their next big smartphone today with the YU Yuphoria, but that wasn’t the only thing they had to show off. The company is getting into the fitness biz, and their first two products will be the YUFit smartband and the HealthYU fitness accessory.

Unless you plan on meeting an early demise or have innards that would make Wolverine proud, you probably need to stay in shape to a degree. It varies from person to person, but being healthy isn’t a bad thing, and fitness trackers are the new way to help you stay in shape. YU wants to assist you in that area with their new fitness products, and we’re going to take a look at the YUFit smartband first.

The YUFit smartband is a simple wearable that can track your steps and calories burned along with your sleep patterns. It features an OLED panel for info and notifications from your mobile as well, like most of the trackers in its class. As you’d expect, the YUFit smartband will have an official app and will even allow you to call in a coach with a special service.

Odd is probably the first word that will come to mind when you see the HealthyYU fitness accessory. The device can attach to the back of a smartphone cover and is packed full of sensors to measure your health. Respiration, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and Blood Oxygen are just a few things the HealthyYU can measure, and all that info can be shared with doctors or your pals through an app.

Both the HealthyYU and the YUFit are going to be available in India starting next month, and would make great accessories to go alongside the YU Yuphoria release. The YUFit is priced at Rs. 999, while the funky looking HealthYU will set you back Rs. 4,999 when it arrives.
