The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo has been churning about in the rumor mill for months, and it’s one of the few unannounced smartphones that is still MIA. That may soon change as a smartphone believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo has just received Wi-Fi certification.

A smartphone bearing the model number SM-903F has passed through Wi-Fi certification, and while that isn’t all that exciting, the model number is tied to a handset we’ve covered in the past. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo appeared with the same digits a month ago, so we could be getting close to a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo release.

According to the previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo will be similar to the handset of the same name, but with an Exynos 7580 SoC in place of the Snapdragon and a 5MP front-facing snapper. The display utilizes a 5.1-inch 1080p panel, and that new Exynos chip will get some help from 2GB of RAM. Other features include a 16MP rear snapper, 16GB of storage, LTE-A, and a 2,800mAh battery.

If you enjoyed the Galaxy S5, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo may be worth a look if you’re looking for LTE-A connectivity or don’t like the dig the design of the Galaxy S6. We’re not sure where the Neo will launch, but it should hit several regions around the globe as it will come in single and dual-SIM variants.
