Huawei Honor 5X goes official on price and specs
In late September we reported that the Huawei Honor 5X had passed through TENAA certification. This revealed a few specs of the upcoming smartphone, and now the Huawei Honor 5X has gone official on price, specs, and more. Read on for information on this new mid-range handset.
The new Huawei smartphone has a very attractive sleek metal build and has some improved specs over the Honor 4X that released around this time last year. The Huawei Honor 5X has launched in China and features a fingerprint sensor on the reverse that can be used to unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds using the latest sensor technology.
Specifications of the Huawei Honor 5X include a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 64-bit octa-core processor (four cores at 1.7GHz and four at 1.2GHz), Adreno 405 graphics, and a 5.5-inch display with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. There are two variants for RAM, at 2GB or 3GB, and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded with microSD to 128GB.
Further specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash plus a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. For juice you’re looking at a 3000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. That means that in only 30 minutes the battery can be charged up to 50%. It’s a dual SIM handset with dual standby and 4G LTE support for both card slots.
Features include the ‘Food Mode’ that first appeared on the Honor 7 flagship. Pricing of the phone has also been announced at CNY 999 for the 2GB RAM model, that’s equivalent to around $157, £103, €142, or Rs. 10,225. The 3GB Huawei Honor 5X has a price of CNY 1,399, around $220, £144, €199, or Rs. 14,315.
