If you can say nothing else about Samsung, they tend to stick to their schedules. Around this time last year we started getting wind of the Galaxy Grand Prime, and now the new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has appeared on cue and revealed its specifications through a benchmark listing.

When the Galaxy Grand Prime made its debut it was a bit of a head turner. Not due to its style, although it’s not a bad looking handset, but more for what it had under the hood. It wasn’t a flagship, but one of Sammy’s more affordable efforts and it looks like we’ll get more of the same with the new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime.

A new GFXBench listing has appeared for a device dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 2016 with the model number SM-G532F. The handset appears to sport a 5.1-inch panel with a resolution of 960 x 540 and is listed with a quad-core 1.4GHz processor with a Cortex A53 to handle the graphics. It looks like they are going the MediaTek route with the MT6737T, and interesting choice to say the least.

The new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime will have either 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM under the hood which is a slight bump up from the previous model. The storage stays the same however at 8GB but is assumed to be expandable with a microSD card slot. Other features to note include an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, and all the usual bells & whistles in terms of connectivity.

We expect to see the new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime rear its head soon considering the original showed up in October of last year. This one probably won’t get a parade from Samsung when it launches, but could be well worth a look if the price is right.
