There is always interest surrounding upcoming Motorola smartphones. Leaks and rumors have been trickling out about the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus for a while. Now some Moto G5 Plus specs have been disclosed in a new image. While some of the specifications tally with an earlier leak there are some differences too.

It’s anticipated that new Motorola phones will be announced at MWC 2017 later in the month, more specifically at an event on February 26. Recently a UK retail leak suggested a Moto G5 release around the middle of March and that could also be the case for the Moto G5 Plus. An online listing recently disclosed some Moto G5 Plus specs as well as some prototype images. Now the latest leak stemming from Brazil shows a live image of the phone revealing some of its innards.

Moto G5 Plus specs as shown in this new image include a 2GHz octa-core processor (likely a Snapdragon 625) and 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. Also revealed are a 12-megapixel rapid focus camera as well as a 3000 mAh battery with TurboPower. A fingerprint reader and NFC support are also shown. There will be a built-in Digital TV Tuner, at least for the Brazilian version of the phone.

There may be some surprise about the display size as previously the phone was tipped to have a 5.5-inch display, the same as the existing Moto G4 Plus that released last year. However, the Moto Z Play released later in 2016 with a 5.5-inch display, which might explain the difference in size for the G5 Plus. The battery size in the latest leak also differs slightly from the previously leaked 3080 mAh battery.

Other previously rumored Moto G5 Plus specs include 4GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage (expandable via microD), and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It will be running the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system while connectivity options are set to include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. Thankfully there will not be long to wait until we hear confirmed specifications, a release date, and the Moto G5 Plus price. We’ll bring the news as we get it.
