Apple iPhone to gain user select background apps feature?

According to MacRumors, the rumoured Apple iPhone 3.0 OS firmware update may well deliver the ability to run a few user selected Apple iPhone apps in the background.

The problem still remains that these user selected background apps will be limited as the Apple iPhone just isn’t going to perform well with speed, stability and battery life with too many apps all vying for the Apple iPhone CPU and battery.

Having said that there shouldn’t be too much problem with running say two or even three app in the background of your iPhone and should deliver an acceptable hit performance wise. No doubts we’ll see come update time.
