Can Nokia or RIM Challenge Apple with App Stores?
Over the past 3 years, since the release of the Apple iPhone 30 million mobile phone users have discovered that a mobile phone can be more than just a means of calling and texting, with the arrival of the application the mobile phone turns into so much more and that is thanks to the Apple iPhone.
Now with Apple soon releasing their new iPhone 3.0 OS the Apple iPhone becomes even more like a pocket sized computer. In fact virtually all mobile phones are now pocket computers capable of doing so much more than those mobile phones before.
And now several manufacturers are bring out app stores to compete with the Apple iTunes App Store, Nokia has Ovi Store supplying Symbian phones such as Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG. Google has the Android Market for the T-Mobile G1 and the soon to be released HTC Magic. Then there is Research In Motion’s BlackBerry App World supplying the BlackBerry range.
All these result in a new aspect of mobile technology experience for the mobile phone user, and things can only get better.
