According to All Things Digital, Apple have scheduled a media event which is to be held on September 9th in San Francisco.

Its speculated that the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center where similar Apple events have been held in the past. The focus of this event is said to be iPod and iTunes updates.

There will be no mention of Apple’s much awaited tablet computer. The event is expected to concentrate purely on upgrades on the iPod line and iTunes and may well include some kind of social event. There is no word yet whether Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) will be for the first time presenting the event since his return from medical leave due to a liver transplant.
