BlackBerry vs iPhone: The Browser Wars
It would seem that RIM has dropped the ball with their native browser. In a current purchase for a secret sum of money, The Canadian BlackBerry maker bought into a web kit developer under the name of Torch Mobile.
According to Torch Mobile’s website, their team of developers will unite with RIM’s global organization and will be focusing on making the most of their WebKit-based device browser knowledge to contribute to the continuing improvement of the BlackBerry platform.
The real question is: can RIM keep up with Apple’s mobile Safari? It will take time to find the answers to that question. If however the rumors turn out to be true then we will have all the information by summer 2010.
