Windows Mobile 6.5 app kill switch, issue refunds too
Recently Microsoft gave some more details on Windows Marketplace for Mobile during the session Tech Ed New Zealand 2009.
Geekzone covered the event in a lot of detail, but one of the points caused quite an uproar in the photosphere. If an application is approved but later removed from the marketplace it would be automatically removed from all mobile devices. Sound’s a little bit ominous doesn’t it.
Microsoft confirmed that in the vast majority of instances where an application is removed from Windows Marketplace for Mobile, users of the application will continue to be able to use the applications on their phones. Although Marketplace does have the capability to remotely remove or uninstall any such applications that exhibit harmful behaviour. Refunds would be available in these instances.
