Does Verizon Motorola Droid Target the iPhone?
The Verizon Motorola Droid has now been unveiled and is the first smartphone in Verizon’s partnership with Google, and the Droid appears to be a compelling alternative to the iPhone reports an article over on information week.
So here we go with another round in the series “I am an iPhone killer” smartphone, (although they don’t actually say that) they then go on to list the features and specs of the Verizon branded Motorola Droid, and notes that the Droid’s 3.7 inch capacitive screen is larger than the iPhone while the addition of the slider QWERTY make it only slightly thicker than the iPhone.
They finalise with the Motorola Droid becoming available on November the 6th and the price tag of $199after rebates and on a 2 year contract.
So slightly thicker due to the slide keyboard and a larger screen, and Android 2.0, does this make the Motorola Droid a potential iPhone killer, or a compelling alternative?

As much as the cool a phone can be… it’s also about the network. AT&T sucks, period. I know so many people who’ll love iPhone on Verizon’s network. But… now they, as well as I , don’t have to… a cool phone on a reliable network, awesome. I’ll be at the Verizon Wireless store on Nov 6th before the opening time to get it. I wouldn’t miss it… for all the iPhones in the world.
