ARM launches Android Solution Centre

The word is that ARM has now launched a solution centre for mobile phone manufacturers developing Android mobile platforms and James Bruce, an ARM spokesman has said that upwards of 35 members of the ARM Connected Community have already joined reports tgdaily.

James Bruce went on to say that Android does offer a complete stack for software devs however hardware makers have traditionally had to do without such a resource, and has also said that several firms in Asia have access to the Android source code but aren’t sure how to get it running and the ARM solutions centre can change that.

Bruce also stated that ARM hardware and the Android platform are readily accessible to small startups and major companies alike, and goes on to note that ARM’s “simple and elegant” RISC architecture has been widely integrated into several mobile handsets including the new Motorola Droid smartphone.

According to Bruce, mobile phone manufacturers can just purchase an ARM Beagle Board at less than $200 and begin developing almost right away.
