iPhone and iPod Universal Dock Patent from Apple

If you are fed up with having to charge or sync your iPhone or iPod via a dock adapter or a USB cable, then the future may hold something in store for you that will put an end to all that as apparently according to an article on engadget, Apple is looking into a solution.

And that solution could come in the form of a universal iPhone and iPod dock which apparently Apple has applied for the patent for, and of course if said patent ever becomes a reality.

Word has it that this new universal iPhone and iPod dock from Apple would be constructed from an elastic, sponge-ish material which can take to the shape of any device and keep it firmly in place.

Furthermore the new universal dock would retain the imprint of the device so it is ready for use the next time you need it and if you need to use a different device you can reset the dock by the press of a button.

Kind of neat dock if you ask me, that’s if we ever get to use it. So what do you think, good idea, easier way to sync and charge, or maybe you have a better idea for a dock? If so feel free to voice your opinions in our comments section
