Googlephone existence is a mistake apparently

Over the weekend the net was rife with announcements that Google have confessed to the existence of the infamous Googlephone with reports that Google employees were actually testing the Googlephone which is called the Nexus One.

Well apparently the story is now that it’s all a fake rumour and that a certain rival company picked up on the fact that Google employees were testing an HTC handset, the HTC Passion which was called Google Phone rather than Android phone and were testing some features of Android 2.1.

The word comes via the 95% god in all things mobile, Eldar Murtazin who also responded in his tweets when asked what rival company started the rumour, replied “For sure is Apple, they fight against future Moto products.”

One has to say here that Murtazin rumours are usually correct about 8 times out of 10 according to the guys over at intomobile, so all in all the great debate about whether Google will push out the infamous Googlephone is still somewhat debatable.
