No Real Christmas Break for iPhone and BlackBerry Users

According to research by mobile comparison website rightmobilephone.co.uk, 77 percent of 1053 smartphone users have stated they will be checking their smartphone during the festive period, and apparently 2/3 will do it daily according to an article over on hrmagazine.

It would appear that iPhone, BlackBerry and other smartphone users simply can’t switch off their smartphone, not even during Christmas, so it looks like they won’t be getting a real Christmas Break not from their smartphone anyway.

Apparently the most common reason is dedication as 45 percent claim they will keep their handset with them at all times just in case something important pops up, while 26 percent say checking emails is an unbreakable habit, and 11 percent admitted they are more concerned with impressing their boss in the hopes of gaining a bonus or promotion in the New Year.

49 percent believe their obsession with checking their smartphone will cause an argument with a family member during Christmas and 58 percent will be making sure they pack their phone charger before heading off to visit family and friends during Christmas.

It seems according to statistics we simply can no longer live without our smartphone by our side, luckily I am old enough to remember back when mobile phones weren’t around and I myself have little problem turning it off, what about you?
