iPhone App Development to be Abandoned by Adobe
Looks like Adobe has finally had enough of trying to get flash apps onto the iPhone and after Apple changed the rules in iPhone OS 4.0, has decided they are to abandon the iPhone application building tech found in Adobe Flash CS5 reports an article over on Gizmodo.
According to the source article over at loopinsight, it seems that Apple has finally won out over Adobe by changing section 3.3.1 of the iPhone Developer Program Licence Agreement and Mike Chambers of Adobe has said “We will still be shipping the ability to target the iPhone and iPad in Flash CS5, however, we are not currently planning any additional investments in that feature.”
Basically Apple’s changing of said agreement terms means developers who wish to make iPhone applications are forbidden from using tools such as Flash, and Adobe is of the opinion that Apple will make sure developers conform to that agreement. Steve Jobs recently defended said agreement changes which you can read (here)
Mike Chambers also stated, “While it appears that Apple may selectively enforce the terms, it is our belief that Apple will enforce those terms as they apply to content created with Flash CS5. Developers should be prepared for Apple to remove existing content and applications (100+ on the store today) created with Flash CS5 from the iTunes store.”
