AT&T Gets Heavy Over Customer Emailing CEO

Now basically it should be every customer’s right to contact the CEO of a company, after all when it comes right down to it, it’s the customer who pays the CEO’s enormous salary. However it appears that the CEO of AT&T doesn’t like being contacted by customers.

According to an article over on Engadget by Nilay Patel, by way of So long, and thanks for all the fish, AT&T customer Giorgia Galante sent a couple of emails in two weeks to Randall Stephenson, the CEO of the Big Blue, these emails were answered with a phone call from the Executive Response Team at AT&T issuing a warning that any more emails will result in the company issuing a cease and desist letter.

The first of Galante’s emails asked that his iPhone eligibility date be bumped up along with asking for a tethering option, while the second stated Galente’s displeasure of AT&T’s new data rates and his decision to move to Sprint and the HTC EVO 4G.

Apparently this prompted someone called “Brent” to contact Galante and while thanking him for his feedback warning that any more emails would incur legal action, which seems a bit heavy as all they really need to do if they are that annoyed it bock the emails address rather than threaten to haul in the lawyers. If AT&T take this kind of approach with customers then no wonder those customers jump ship.
