T-Mobile Sidekick Follows Microsoft Kin to Grave

Well now, we have only just learnt that Microsoft is relegating the Microsoft KIN phones to the mobile grave, and now it appears that T-Mobile is following that example by assigning the T-Mobile Sidekick to the mobile cemetery.

According to an article over on Intomobile by Marin and by way of Phone Scoop, as of today the 2nd of July 2010 T-Mobile will stop selling their Sidekick handset, although apparently T-Mobile has said…“As T-Mobile looks to further innovate and raise the bar for the next iteration of the T-Mobile Sidekick, as of July 2, the Sidekick LX and Sidekick 2008 will no longer be available through T-Mobile, including retail stores, care, telesales and online.”

So it seems it’s just the current Sidekicks that are being buried while T-Mobile work on what will come next in the Sidekick line-up and they will continue to deliver product service and support to Sidekick customers so it isn’t as bad as it looks.

According to the article by Marin, they’ve heard rumours that the next generation T-Mobile Sidekick will pack a 1GHz processor, numerous high end features, Android OS and be manufactured by HTC.
