Motorola i1 Android IDEN Smartphone Unboxed on Video

Today we have a traditional smartphone unboxing video for your viewing pleasure and it is none other that the Motorola i1 smartphone on the Sprint Nextel, which is apparently the first Android IDEN smartphone on the Nextel network.

The Motorola i1 unboxing video comes our way courtesy of Aaron Baker over at Phone Dog, and lasts almost eleven minutes of Aaron unboxing the Motorola device. The Motorola i1 does have what one would deem out-of-date specs though.

Speaking of specs, here’s what the Motorola i1 offers, a 3.1 inch VGA display, 600 MHz processor, Android 1.5 OS with MotoBlur, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, Skype, Bluetooth. Aaron reckons the Motorola i1 will probably feel a little sluggish when compared to today’s 1GHz devices.

Anyway, as they say, an unboxing is an unboxing so I’ll just leave it there and let you mash that play button to check out the Motorola i1 receiving its unboxing on video…enjoy.

That's the same question I'm asking. One of the reasons I got the phone was because they told me that I could get Skype on the phone, but now that I have it they are telling me that I can't get it. When I call motarola about this issue, i'm put on hold until the phone conveniently hangs up on me… Can anyone help me. I can be reached at infinitefinancesgroup@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance.

The only thing I have been able to get working is Skype Lite Beta and the only thing that works is the chat. Voice calls dont work so its pretty much an instant messenger and the bad part is it wont notify you so you have to have the app open all the time to recieve chats. I got skype mobile to install but upon startup you get a message that its only for Verizon Wireless phones. So unless someone comes up with a work around for the skype mobile your stuck. BTW there is no upgrade from the android 1.5 version currently for the i1.
