Now if you have gone the route of jailbreaking your iPhone much to Apple’s dismay you may wish to grab hold of a few iPhone apps which Apple doesn’t want iPhone owners to have and thus doesn’t offer then in their App Store.

Well apparently Rick Broida of Cnet has managed to jailbreak his iPhone via JailbreakMe and has come up with a list of five “killer apps” for jailbroken iPhones, so if you own a jailbroken iPhone here’s what he thinks are best in the way of apps…

First up is an app called iD3 which costs $1.99 and enables the user to give their jailbroken iPhone Lock Screen, various built in apps, and icons a makeover and also “customizes user-interface sounds.”

Then there’s an app known as IntelliScreen which is a tad expensive at $9.99, but delivers a Windows Mobile type “Todat” screen and also delivers your email, texts, and calendar along with custom sports, weather and news to the Lock Screen, although apparently the set-up can be a tad tricky and the screen can be slow to populate.

Third on the list sits My3G, which I’m sure most have heard about as it enables the user to use iPhone FaceTime over 3G rather than WiFi and costs $3.99.

Almost done with an app called MyWi 4.0, which is an iPhone tethering application which costs $19.99 and reasonable considering AT&T’s tethering option will set you back $45 a month. MyWi 4.0 turns your iPhone into a mobile 3G hotspot and supports USB connections.

Lastly in the big 5 apps for jailbroken iPhones is an app called Wi-Fi Sync which costs $9.99 but does get the job done as Apple felt the need to leave WiFi syncing out of iOS 4, and apparently the desktop utility for Wi-Fi Sync is available for both Windows and Mac.

So there it is Rick’s top five apps for Jailbroken iPhone handsets, one thing to note though is you need to grab the applications via either Cydia or Rock Store apps.
