Dell Streak US Release with Android 2.2 Froyo: Says Tomorrow
The Dell Streak has already been released in the UK as we mentioned here and in the US the price on AT&T will be $549.99 without contract and $299.99 with 2-year contract.
Well looking over on Engadget they have published an article explaining a little more about the operating system, according to them the Dell Streak will be released in US with AT&T featuring Android 2.2 Froyo.
Apparently Android 2.1 will be skipped in favour of Android 2.2, there is no word on release timeframe but we will keep you posted. The source above got this information via @LionelatDell (Twitter) and we know that customers looking at buying the Dell Streak with AT&T will be very happy that the handset will release with the latest OS.
Please let us know if you will be buying the Dell Streak smartphone and why, anything you wish to mention about this device please do in the comments area below. Thanks

The Streak launched in the US last week directly from Dell's website. They run Android 1.6 out of the box with no updates to a more modern version available as of this morning.
Umm no where does it say in the engadget article that froyo is being released soon…it says the plan is to skip eclair…the twitter handle that @lionelatdell is mentioning in his tweet that is listed in the source link, @dzerveviktory, is myhandle…I have asked @lionelatdell if he can share a releasedate for froyo but he has not done so…you might want to edit/update this false article with CORRECT information….
