Droid X Leaked ROM Doesn’t Have Froyo Upgrade Path Warns Motorola

If you are a Droid X owner thinking about flashing your Droid X with the recently leaked unofficial Android 2.2 ROM, you just might like to hold off on doing so as apparently the leaked ROM doesn’t have an upgrade path.

According to an article over on Intomobile by Kelly Hodgkins, Motorola has posted an update to their Droid X support forum with the warning that discourages Droid X users from flashing their device with the leaked ROM.

The wanting says that the leaked ROM doesn’t have an upgrade path for the official Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade and unless users revert back to the stock ROM they will not receive the official Froyo version when it drops in early September.

Frustrating for some Droid X user I know, but not too unexpected from Motorola, especially after took a rather aggressive stance over a recently leaked Android 2.2 ROM, sending the source website a cease and desist notification letter.

Well Saturday at 2AM I got a notification to my phone about an update. I pushed the button to update the phone and today (Tuesday) the update still has not downloaded. My ex who works as Tech Support for VZ tried looking at it to see what was wrong and he found nothing. He says its obviously hung up somewhere and I need for VZ or Moto to un hang it because it's making my phone freeze. If I go in to settings to manually update it it reads "An update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete." Uhh, HELLO IT'S BEEN THREE DAYS!!!
