Word is Orange UK has now gone all official and launched their new HD Voice Service and enabled handsets which includes the Samsung Omnia Pro and Nokia X6, Nokia E5 and Nokia 5230 handsets.

According to Richard Lai over at Engadget, the guys prior to launch, managed to try out the new Orange UK service on the Nokia E5 and say the HD Voice service from Orange UK is pretty impressive with the “wider speech bandwidth really added a lot of clarity to the caller’s voice.”

Apparently the traffic noise from the caller’s end was “well suppressed”. They liken the service as “jumping from a bad FM radio broadcast to some sweet CD audio,” which makes the conversations far easier to interpret even when in a noisy environment.
