New iPhone On Its Way with 1700MHz AWS for T-Mobile USA
Possibly yet another signal that AT&T is finally losing their grip over the iPhone in the US has now come to light with Quebec based Videotron launching their mobile service in Canada and its exec vice president hinting that the new wireless carrier may offer the iPhone.
So what’s the big deal here? Well according to an article over on Intomobile by Kelly Hodgkins, as Videotron uses the 1700MHz AWS band, the exec also suggested that the freshly made 1700MHz AWS iPhone would also land with Canada’s Wind and T-Mobile.
Furthermore the exec VP also stated that an official statement to confirm the existence of the new iPhone will be announced in the coming months.
So this seems to lend some credence to the rumours we’ve already heard about T-Mobile possibly getting the iPhone on their network, and I can’t see Apple making a new iPhone 3GS with 1700MHz AWS rather than making an iPhone 4 as was recently rumoured, and that AT&T’s exclusivity over the iconic device is rapidly drawing to an end.

awesome.
I wish this were the case, as I would move to wind mobile in a heartbeat, but the fact is that it does not support the new frequency, even the verizon version does not support it unfortunately 🙁 Wish it wasn't so, but it is.
