Well now, if you are an Android fan who loves Android applications you may not just have the Android Market to purchase all you apps from in the not too distant future as it appears you’ll be able to get your Android apps from Amazon as well.

According to an article over on Engadget by Chris Ziegler, the guys over at Techcrunch are reporting that tipsters are saying Amazon is gearing up to launch their very own Android App Store to rival the Android Market.

Word has it that Amazon revenue split is said to be “the greater of 70 percent of the purchase price or 20 percent of the List Price as of the purchase date,” however apparently the “list price” concept is designed to stop users undercutting prices with other services. There is also a price to pay to gain entry which is the standard $99.

Apparently Android apps will need to use the Amazon DRM and may feature on the Amazon website; however the alleged terms apparently say that “[Amazon has] sole discretion to determine all features and operations of [programs] and to set the retail price and other terms on which [they] sell Apps,” so basically means they control price and not the developer.
