Android 2.2.1 Froyo Install Guide for Jailbroken iPhone 3GS
If you own an jailbroken iPhone 3GS or even an iPhone 2G you don’t necessarily have to use the Apple iOS on your device, maybe you’d like to try out the Android operating system, especially Android 2.2.1 Froyo.
According to an article over on Daily Mobile the guys over at Funky Space Monkey have now come up with a guide on how to install Android 2.2.1 Froyo onto a jailbroken iPhone 3GS and 2G and that probably the easiest way do to this is by using iPhoDroid, however with Bootlace 2.1 you can now install Android 2.2.1 Froyo without using a Mac or PC.
Bootlace 2.1 is compatible with iPhone 3GS running iOS 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2 and 4.1, and the iPhone 2G running iOS 3.1.2 and iOS 3.1.3, while jailbreaking tools which support Bootlace 2.1 are, BlackRa1n, Redsn0w, and PwnageTool.
So here’s how the guide goes…Once your iPhone is jailbroken run Cydia and the iPhone springboard and add “http://rpo.neonkoala.co.uk/” no quote marks as repository. Now hit “Add Source” then install “Bootlace.”
When Bootlace is installed bring up the app from home screen, then from Bootlace install “OpeniBoot”, next hit the “iDroid” tab to install iDroid. When installed hit the “QuickBoot” tab and then tap the Android logo and your device will restart booting into Android.
And that’s your lot; your jailbroken iPhone 3GS or 2G should now be running Androud 2.2.1 Froyo. When you want to check for Android updates you’ll need to open “OpeniBoot” and hit the “iDroid” tab and this is recommended being done over a WiFi connection.

iPhone 3GS MC model… It doesn`t work. Bootlace gives error "Bootlace does not support this device". BTW the repo is actually http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk/
Only works in version ios3.1.2->4.2.1
sad
this is iphone3gs 4.1 not working “bootlace does not support this device” ?
doesnt work on 3gs only 2g and 3g just tried it
i thought this was only for iPhone 2G or 3G?
Cydia keeps telling me the repo doesn't exist. Has anyone actually confirmed that they have this working?
there is a mistake in the post, the source is "http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk/"
It's only for the 2G and 3G, NOT the 3GS. The source website is pretty clear about this, not sure how phonesreview messed it up.
The original articles are about to iPhone 3G not 3GS.
I personally think android still can not be installed on 3GS
3GS doesn't work
this review is full of holes and misleading everyone. Bootlace currently only works for 2G and 3G NOT 3GS
3GS doesn't work
