Symbian OS FOMA SH706iw mobile phone hits Japan
NTT DoCoMo has launched, in Japan, the FOMA SH706iw mobile phone which is based on the Symbian OS.
The FOMA SH709iw mobile handset supports the “well-being and dietary requirements” of the user while working in conjunction with a health support website.
The FOMA SH709iw is made by Sharp Corporation and comes with the MOAP platform that is compliant with FOMA specs.
Customers of Symbian who have in the past shipped 3G mobile phones to Japan based on the Symbian OS are, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Sharp, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi Electric.
